Plug and play is a great concept, but when it doesn't work or something becomes accidentally unplugged it can be frustrating to find out about it only when you try to use the device - often with a cryptic error message.
USB Monitor eliminates the guess work. It pops up a little window and provides the name of the device that's just been plugged in (or unplugged). The window follows the visual style of the transparent windows for volume and eject.
